About the Artist
Gary Bowers earned a BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art with a magna cum laude’ honors in 1994. After graduation, he had several successful exhibits at Goucher College, Harbor Court in Baltimore, and Swinney’s Bluff Side Gallery in Louisville, Ky.
In 2002, Gary moved to the Washington, DC area to continue his studies in oil painting at the Vander Zee School of Painting. His works have found their way into many private collections and galleries on the east coast and overseas.
In the spring of 2009, Gary was invited to exhibit his work in Vilnius, Lithuania as part of Europe’s Capital of Culture Celebration. He also participated in an exhibit at the Lithuanian National Museum of Art and two of his paintings have become part of the museum’s permanent collection.
Gary now resides in Manchester, on the northern coast of California, where he is continuing his painting.
